Whittier Elementary Creating Courtyard Rain Garden

Construction is scheduled to begin early this summer for a new rain garden to be located in the “North American” garden at Whittier Elementary. The plants will be specific to the Pacific Northwest.

The PTA tells us:

Our wish for this garden is to have a totem pole.  The totem pole will have 3 animals carved out, an eagle to represent the United States, an orca to represent the Pacific Northwest, and a bobcat which is Whittier’s mascot.

We would welcome any donations from our neighbors to go toward the cost for this pole.  Checks can be made out to Whittier PTA and designated for the totem pole or you may drop off a cash donation or mail a check to Whittier Elementary School, 916 Oakes Ave, Everett, WA 98201.

On April 12th from 6pm to 8pm the PTA is hosting a Burger Bash at Wendy’s on Broadway as a fundraiser for the rain garden.
