NW Neighborhood Annual Events
Dear NW Neighbors, your annual donations help us host neighborhood events for all to enjoy:
Easter Egg Hunt – The Northwest Neighborhood and Girl Scouts Troop __ host an annual Easter Egg Hunt for families in the neighborhood. The event takes place on the Saturday preceding Easter and includes an egg hunt. Over 200 children and their parents participate each year. This year’s event was held at Drew Nielsen Park on Saturday, April 20, 2019. Photos from the 2018 event.
**NEW** Whittier Bike to School Day – We are partnering with the Whittier PTA to host the first annual Bike to School Day. We will gather at Drew Nielsen Park at 7:30 a.m. to do crafts, grab snacks, quick bike tune-ups by Eric with Bayside Bikes, water bottles from Kulits Orthodontics, coffee from Starbucks, and a send off by Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin. The Everett Police will escort the riders down Hoyt from 13th to 10th, and down 10th from Hoyt to Oakes. Held Friday, May 17, 2019. See you again on the third Friday in May in 2020! – Photos from the 2019 event
Neighborhood Clean-up – The Northwest Neighborhood hosts a clean-up opportunity each spring. This is an opportunity for residents to get garbage and junk out of your yards so that the neighborhood can maintain its attractive qualities. Dumpsters and recycling are provided at an accessible location in the neighborhood. No furniture, large pieces of wood, concrete or rocks. The clean up took place on Saturday, May 18, 2019.
National Night Out – National Night Out is a major event in our nation. The event provides a great opportunity to get to know your neighbors, the police, firemen, and other city representatives that come to visit our event. Please let the City of Everett know if you have an event planned. We hope that you’ll attend another city event. For us, our focus in early August goes to….
Mother of All Garage Sales (M.O.A.G.S.) – If there’s one thing we know how to do in Everett it’s how to have terrific garage sales! Not only is this a chance for garage sale participants to sell their excess wares, but it’s a fundraiser for the neighborhood. It’s head annually on the first Saturday in August. More MOAGs Info. This year’s MOAGS will happen on Saturday, August 3, 2019.

Annual Holiday/Volunteer Appreciation Party – In place of the December meeting, the Northwest Neighborhood plans a social function in a more relaxed atmosphere. We encourage neighbors to get to know one another at this lively event. Join us at Legion Golf Course – Greenside Grill on Saturday, December 7, 2019. It’s an open house style from 5-9pm. Food is served from 6-8pm. We raise money and ask for donations for Christmas House and Volunteers of America. Also, please bring cookies or dessert to share!
