NW Neighborhood Annual Events
Your annual donations help us host neighborhood events for all to enjoy:
Easter Egg Hunt – The Northwest Neighborhood and Girl Scouts Troop __ host an annual Easter Egg Hunt for families in the neighborhood. The event takes place on the Saturday preceding Easter and includes an egg hunt. Over 200 children and their parents participate each year. This year’s event was held at Drew Nielsen Park on Saturday, March 31, 2018. Photos from this year’s event.
Neighborhood Clean-up – The Northwest Neighborhood hosts a clean-up opportunity each spring. This is an opportunity for residents to get garbage and junk out of your yards so that the neighborhood can maintain its attractive qualities. Dumpsters and recycling are provided at an accessible location in the neighborhood. No furniture, large pieces of wood, concrete or rocks. This will take place on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Here’s the Clean-up flyer 2018 of what you can bring and not bring. Here’s the 3R Technology_Collection Event Flyer_2018 1 / e-recycling flyer. This year, we will accompany the clean-up with an Alley Clean-Up in partnership with Take Back Our Neighborhoods – Everett. Join us from 10-2pm.
Park Clean-up – The Northwest Neighborhood hosts a clean-up opportunity each year at Drew Nielsen Park. This will take place in September. We’ll clean the park on September 8. We’ll plant flowers and install the bike rack on September 15. And, on September 22, we’ll celebrate our efforts with the Fall Chili Cook Off (see below). 🙂
National Night Out – National Night Out is a major event in our nation. The event provides a great opportunity to get to know your neighbors, the police, firemen, and other city representatives that come to visit our event. Please let the City of Everett know if you have an event planned. We do highly suggest Delta Neighborhood’s event or the one put on by NW neighbors at Port Gardner Bay Winery downtown. For us, our focus in early August goes to….
Mother of All Garage Sales (M.O.A.G.S.) – If there’s one thing we know how to do in Everett it’s how to have terrific garage sales! Not only is this a chance for garage sale participants to sell their excess wares, but it’s a fundraiser for the neighborhood. It’s head annually on the first Saturday in August. More MOAGs Info. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 9am to 4pm.
Register TODAY! The Early Bird Deadline to be on the map is Friday, July 13, 2018. The deadline to be on the online map is Wednesday, August 1.
Fall Chili Cook Off – All neighbors are welcome to attend our Fall Chili Cook Off and Potluck Party. The chili cook off is a chance show off your special chili recipe. All ages welcome, music, games, social time, and a Chili Cook Off! Take some time to meet your neighbors and have some family fun at the park. Contestants must provide one crock pot of chili and register. We are looking for help with kids games and set up and clean up, please call Holly to sign up to help, 425-210-1480. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Come meet your neighbors!
Halloween Decorating Contest – Our secret judges have voted and the winners are…… 2017 Winners. Categories include Best Daytime, Best Nighttime and Best Overall. We also included a few honorable mentions. We couldn’t help ourselves. 🙂
Holiday Decorating Contest –
Annual Holiday Party – In place of the December meeting, the Northwest Neighborhood plans a social function in a more relaxed atmosphere. We encourage neighbors to get to know one another at this lively event. Join us at Legion Golf Course – Greenside Grill on Saturday, December 1, 2018.
