What is a Block Watch?

In the last 90 days we’ve sent out over 25 Alerts about coyotes, catalytic
converter thefts, a burglary, a break-in a car theft, car windows being
smashed, homeless people barging into peoples homes, … etc.

Just between Oct. 8 and Oct. 23 the Northwest Block Watch has sent
“Block Watch Alerts” concerning:

  • A woman on Grand heard her car alarm go off at 2:30 a.m. she
discovered someone had been trying to steal her catalytic converter.
Bucky’s Mufflers reports that they’ve seen over 100 converter thefts in
    the last few months!
  • Two different sightings of coyotes- including a pair of coyotes
that stood their ground as the resident approached them!
  • An 8:00 p.m. break-in on Rucker just a few doors down from Under
the Red Umbrella- two of the three suspects have been apprehended.
  • A resident on Wetmore discovered a patient (just released from
the hospital) passed out in her bed!

Would you like us to alert you about future incidents? It’s free.

Simply email me with your name address and phone number.

This is also an easy way for you to (confidentially) inform us about
anything you know about crimes, “problem addresses” and/ or nuisance
issues on your block if you’d like.
