Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Once I built a railroad, I made it run,
made it race against time,
Once I built a railroad; now it’s done.
Brother, can you spare a dime?train-pic

Harburg & Gorney

We’ve all noticed; times are tough … in the U.S. and around the globe.
A number of members from the Northwest Neighborhood Association, hoping to encourage old-fashioned neighborly concern on our respective blocks have joined together to send you this message.

Would You Join Us?   Could We Help?
We want to match-up neighbors who need a hand with Northwest Neighbors who live close by and are willing and able to lend a hand. One never knows when our own circumstances will turn difficult. Age in particular can sneak-up on us and rob us of our life-long support networks; toss in a debilitating medical condition and things can seem all but impossible.

Our effort is oriented to the northwest Everett neighborhood where we live. It’s an informal, person to person effort but a well-considered one, we hope.

We’re being local & neighborly, but we’ve also studied up on our community’s resources and, for vetting purposes, we’re loosely affiliated with Volunteer Chore Services. Join us.
We welcome your participation and your suggestions. Don’t have the time now but know of someone on your block who might need a helping hand?

Drop Us a Line
Can you help? Spend as much or as little time as you can spare.\ Choose something you could feel comfortable and useful doing. These are some of the chores we anticipate we’ll be helping with, depending on the time we each have available and our skills/resources:
Transportation Housework Shopping / Errands
Household Repairs Laundry Moving Assistance Cooking
Communications Medication Reminders Monitoring

Check up on someone across the street who doesn’t get out much….just to say hello, see that they’re doing OK…offer a ride to the supermarket or the drugstore or the doctor or our great Everett Public Library. Let them know their neighbors care.

SPRING GET STARTED SPECIAL – YARD CLEAN-UP

Lots of Agreement that this is one of the Bigger Challenges that folks who can’t get out of their homes much face. It’s the time of year for spring yard clean‐up and we already have requests for assistance in this area….bring your clippers!
